In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover from when the company started. • Health was incorporated on 30 August 2019 • Mr Jay applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Health, declaring a turnover of £280,000. • Prior to the receipt of the BBL, Health’s bank statements show total credits of £366. • Health’s Year End 30 August 2020 accounts show turnover of £2,347. • Health’s Year End 30 August 2021 accounts show turnover of £4,173. • Health received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 08 June May 2020. • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £51,485 of which £50,585 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
