Conduct: Mr Asim Mohammed (“Mr Mohammed”) caused Frozen Beverages Ltd (“FBL”) to provide false or knowingly inaccurate information concerning its turnover in FBLs application for a Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) and, as a result FBL obtained at least an estimated £30,537 from the BBL scheme to which it was not entitled. In that: • FBL was incorporated on 10 June 2019 and commenced trading in June/July 2019. • The BBL scheme permitted companies which were established after 1 January 2019, a loan of up to 25% of its estimated annual turnover, from the date it started its business. • Mr Mohammed signed an application for a BBL, on behalf of FBL, on 07 May 2020. In that application he declared that FBL’s estimated annual turnover, from the date it started business, was £240,000. As a result, FBL received £50,000 on 11 May 2020. • Analysis of FBL’s bank account for the period 12 August 2019 (first credit in the bank account) to 07 May 2020 (date of BBL application) indicates credits totalling £38,890, equating to £58,335 over a 12-month period. • Accounts prepared for FBL for 10 June 2019 to 30 June 2020 declared turnover of £77,852, signed by Mr Mohammed on 13 September 2021. • FBL would have been eligible for a maximum BBL of £14,584, based on its bank statements up to 07 May 2020. • FBL would have been eligible for a maximum BBL of £19,463, based on its declared accounts up to 30 June 2020. • FBL was then entitled to a BBL of between £14,584 and no more than £19,463, thereby obtaining at least £30,537 more in BBL funding than it was entitled to. • In the Statement of Affairs at Liquidation, the £50,000 BBL made up all-but £100 of total liabilities.
