Conduct: Babak Chehrazi (“Mr Chehrazi”) caused Closetcase Cardiff Ltd (“Closetcase”) to apply for a Bounce Back n (“BBL”) of £50,000, received by Closetcase on 04 February 2021, by overstating the company turnover. As a result, Closetcase received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it was their estimated annual turnover from the date the business started. • Closetcase was incorporated on 18 April 2019 and started trading on 18 August 2019. • Closetcase’s accounts for periods ended 30 April 2020 and 30 April 2021 show turnover of £28,000 and £32,200 respectively. • Closetcase received a BBL of £50,000 on 04 February 2021, the BBL application submitted by Mr Chehrazi having declared that its annual turnover was £260,000. • Total liabilities at liquidation were £82,490, including £41,163 owed to the bank in respect of the BBL obtained.
