Conduct: On 07 May 2020, Jack Martiny-Schofield (“Mr Martiny-Schofield”) caused Schofield Engineering Limited (“the Company”) to apply for a Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £18,000 and failed to use the BBL proceeds in its entirety for the economic benefit of the company, contrary to the terms and conditions of the scheme. In that: Businesses were required to use the loan only to provide economic benefit to the business, and not for personal purposes. The Company received the BBL totalling £18,000 into its bank account on 07 May 2020 Prior to receipt of the BBL, the Company’s bank balance was in credit by £3,247. On the same day, £16,200 was paid to “JACK EXPENSE”. Consequently at least £12,953 of this transfer was funded by the BBL Mr Martiny-Schofield has failed to provide any accounting records of the company, or any other additional evidence to prove that the transaction listed above was for the economic benefit of the Company. On 27 October 2020, the company was dissolved, at which time the BBL provider was a creditor for £18,000, the full amount of the BBL.
