Conduct: On 2 March 2021, Mr Prosper Olugbenga Okunnuga (“Mr Okunnuga”) breached the terms of the government backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by causing Kin-Nuga Limited (“KNL”) to overstate its turnover on its application for a BBL, resulting in the company receiving a BBL of £50,000 when he knew, or ought to have known, that KNL was not eligible for a loan of that value, in that: • The BBL scheme terms allowed businesses to receive a loan of up to 25% of their annual turnover for the 2019 calendar year, which the applicant would self-certify when completing the BBL application.   • If a company was established after 01 January 2019, they were allowed to estimate the company turnover from the date the company started to trade. • KNL was incorporated on 04 March 2019, however, it had traded for almost 2 years prior to the BBL application. • On 2 March 2021, Mr Okunnuga declared on the company’s BBL application form an annual turnover of £215,000, and consequently on 03 March 2021 KNL received a £50,000 BBL. • Annual accounts for FYE 31 March 2020 show the company achieved a turnover of £33,302. • This would have meant that KNL would have been eligible to apply for a BBL of no more than £8,326. • The overstatement of turnover meant that KNL received at least £41,674 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • KNL entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation on 30 July 2025. • At liquidation, KNL had liabilities totalling £43,257.87 of which £39,657.87 was owed to the bank in respect of the BBL.
