Conduct: On 15 June 2020 Mr James Daniel Tattum (‘Mr Tattum’) applied for and obtained a Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (‘BBL’) of £50,000 for Group 2 Go Limited (‘G2G’). Mr Tattum provided false or knowingly inaccurate information regarding G2G’s turnover in 2019 or its estimated turnover, causing it to obtain at least £29,732 to which it was not entitled. In that: • The BBL scheme permitted a loan of up to 25% of a business’ turnover in the calendar year 2019, or estimated turnover if it had been established after 01 January 2019; • G2G was incorporated in December 2018, but it did not commence trading until January 2020; • G2G’s bank statements record income of £33,780 in the period January to June 2020, which on a pro-rata basis would have entitled G2G to a BBL of no more than £20,268; • On 15 June 2020 Mr Tattum completed an application form for a BBL from G2G’s bank, self-certifying that its turnover in 2019/estimated turnover was £200,000 and requesting a loan of £50,000. • Mr Tattum has failed to provide any documentation to support the level of turnover claimed in the application. • At the liquidation date the bank was the majority creditor and the statement of affairs shows that it was owed £51,047.
