Conduct: On 28 July 2020, Mr Rahid Al Hasan (‘Mr Hasan’) provided inaccurate information in a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application made on behalf of Total Travel Solutions Ltd (“Travel Solutions”), by overstating Travel Solutions’ turnover. As a result, Travel Solutions received BBL funds of £48,000 when Mr Hasan knew or ought to have known that the company was not eligible for a BBL of any amount. In that:    • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it was their estimated turnover from when the business was established.   In addition, the company had to have been carrying on its business at 01 March 2020 and engaging in trading at the date of the application.   • Travel Solutions was incorporated on 03 December 2018 and according to information provided on liquidation began trading at the same date.   • On 28 July 2020, Mr Hasan applied for a BBL of £48,000 on behalf of Travel Solutions, declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £193,000 and the BBL funds were paid on the same day.   • Dormant accounts were filed at Companies House for the year ended 31 December 2019 and accounts for the year ended 31 December 2020 state turnover of £1,580. • As the company had no turnover in 2019 calendar year it was not eligible for a BBL of any amount under the terms of the scheme. • Total liabilities at liquidation amounted to £48,354, all of which relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
