Conduct: On 27 July 2020 Kaisha Cole (Ms Cole”) provided false information concerning the turnover of Glowball Limited (“Glowball”) to obtain a BBL of £50,000 when she knew or ought to have known that Glowball was not entitled to a BBL of any amount due to it not trading. In that: • The size of BBL to which an applicant was entitled under the rules of the BBL scheme was linked to turnover. Loans of up to 25% of turnover could be obtained between £2,000 and a maximum of £50,000. Applicants that had been trading before 1 January 2019 were required to provide a turnover figure for the 2019 calendar year; applicants that had commenced trading after 1 January 2019 were entitled to apply for a BBL of up to 25% of estimated annual turnover from the date the business started. • Glowball Ltd was incorporated on 02 July 2018. • Ms Cole was appointed as the sole director from 02 July 2018 to liquidation. • Dormant accounts were filed for the year ending 31 July 2019. • On or around 20 July 2020, a bank account was opened with a bank. • On 27 July 2020, Ms Cole applied to a bank for a BBL in the sum of £50,000 having stated that Glowball’s turnover was £200,000. • The BBL proceeds were received into the Bank account on 30 July 2020. • Dormant accounts were filed for the year ending 30 July 2020. • Between 20 July 2020 and 19 April 2021, there were no credit entries into the account. • Accounts for the year ending 31 July 2021, income was £2. • Between 31 July 2020 and 31 July 2021, sums totalling £30,006 was transferred direct to Ms Cole’s bank account • £5,000 was withdrawn in cash. • £9,375 was utilised on payments that were for your own personal benefit. • Only one payment of £992.30 was made in respect of the BBL • At liquidation, the sum of £50,062.23 remained outstanding in respect of the BBL.
