Conduct: On 30 July 2020, Mr Hitendra Ramgi “Mr Ramgi” caused or allowed Shubh Leicester Ltd (“Shubh”) to obtain a second Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) that company was not eligible for, resulting in Shubh receiving a BBL of £50,000 to which it had no entitlement. In that: • The BBL scheme permitted one loan of up to 25% of a business’ turnover in the calendar year 2019 up to a maximum of £50,000. • On 13 July 2020 Shubh obtained a BBL of £50,000 from Bank A. • On 30 July 2020 Shubh obtained a second BBL of £50,000 from bank B. • The application form included a declaration that “I/We confirm that this is my/our only application for a Bounce Back Loan for this business, and I am/we are not part of a wider group which has already received a Bounce Back Loan”. • In applying for a second BBL Shubh obtained £50,000 in Covid-support funding that it was not entitled to. • At liquidation, the £50,563 BBL funds remains unpaid to Bank A and at least £51,432 remains unpaid to Bank B.
