Conduct: On 14 May 2020 Svetoslav Aleksandrov Georgiev (“Mr Georgiev”) caused Shav Service Limited (“SSL”) to obtain a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £48,000 using an overstated turnover figure of £200,000, which resulted in SSL receiving £37,476 more than it was entitled to. In that: Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019. SSL was incorporated on 7 April 2018. On or around 14 May 2020 Mr Georgiev applied for a BBL of £48,000 on behalf of SSL declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. Company accounts show that turnover was £36,112 for 30 April 2019 and £42,097 for 30 April 2020. Based on the higher turnover figure from the 2020 accounts, SSL would have been entitled to a BBL of no more than £10,524. SSL received the BBL funds of £48,000 on 14 May 2020. Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £52,766 of which £44,984 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
