Conduct: On 16 June 2020, Mrs Gurinder Kaur Khasria (‘Mrs Khasria’) caused J P Builders UK Ltd (‘JPBUK’) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (‘BBL’) Scheme by applying for a BBL when JPBUK had already applied for and received a previous BBL, in that; • Under the BBL scheme, businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of its turnover for the calendar year 2019. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The BBL scheme eligibility criteria allowed for businesses to only receive one BBL. • JPBUK was incorporated on 18 December 2017 • Mr Jatinderpal Singh Khasria, Mrs Khasria’s husband, completed an earlier BBL application on 10 June 2020, applying for and receiving £50,000 from Bank A. • On 16 June 2020, Mrs Khasria signed a second BBL application, applying for a further £50,000 from Bank B. • The BBL scheme terms and conditions, in the application signed by Mrs Khasria, asked the applicant to confirm that the business applying (whether as a part of a group or not) had not already applied for nor received a bounce back loan. • JPBUK breached the terms of the BBL scheme by obtaining the second BBL and received £50,000 more than it was entitled to. • JPBUK entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation on 24 October 2022 • At liquidation, £37,966 and £40,519 remained outstanding respectively for the BBLS.
