Conduct: Mr Mohammed Nasar Siddiq (“Mr Siddiq”) caused Kabool Bridal Ltd (“KBL”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overestimating KBL’s turnover. As a result, KBL received BBL funds of £38,135 that it was not entitled to. In that: ?? • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it was their estimated turnover.?? ? • KBL was incorporated on 01 December 2017.? • On 14 May 2020, Mr Siddiq applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of KBL declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. • KBL filed accounts for the year ending 31 December 2019 which show turnover of £47,460. Based on this amount, KBL would have been entitled to apply for a BBL of £11,865. Therefore, KBL has received BBL funds of £38,135 that it was not entitled to. • KBL’s bank statements for the 2019 calendar year show credits totalling £14,211. • Mr Siddiq has not provided any documentary evidence to show what the stated turnover figure of £200,000 was based on or that KBL was entitled to apply for a BBL of £50,000. • KBL received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 18 May 2020. ? • On 06 February 2023, KBL entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation with total liabilities of £73,362.37, of which £50,127.92 was owed in respect of the BBL.
