Conduct: On 15 June 2020, Usman Hussain (“Mr Hussain”) caused UH Financial Services Ltd (“UFS”) to apply for and obtain a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 by overstating its turnover on the BBL application, when he knew or ought to have known that UFS was not entitled to the BBL amount received. As a result, the Company has received BBL funds of £35,184.43 that it was not entitled to, in that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it was their estimated for the 12 months after the business had started • The company was incorporated on 30 October 2017 and commenced trading prior to 01 January 2019. It was therefore not entitled to estimate its turnover. • On 15 June 2020, Mr Hussain applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of UFS declaring that its turnover for the calendar year of 2019 was £200,000 • Bank Statements for the calendar year 2019 show total receipts of £59,262.26. As such the maximum BBL available to the company was £14,815.57 • UFS received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 16 June 2020. The amount received was £35,184.43 more than that to which the company was entitled. • UFS went into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation 10 April 2025 with total liabilities of £55,899. £42,797 of which is owed in respect of the BBL.
