Conduct: Adam Wilson (“Mr Wilson”) caused Contract Safety Solutions Limited (“CSS”) to make false representations overstating the company’s turnover in an application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000, in that: Under the BBL scheme, businesses were entitled to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 up to a maximum of 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019. CSS was incorporated on 24 March 2017. CSS’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2019 (approved by Mr Wilson on 23 December 2019) show turnover of £92,439. CSS’s bank statements show receipts totalling £94,714.22 in the calendar year 2019 On 04 May 2020, Mr Wilson submitted a BBL application in which he stated that CSS’s turnover in the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. The £50,000 BBL was deposited into CSS’s account on 07 May 2020. By overstating CSS’s turnover in the BBL application, Mr Wilson overstating CSS’s turnover in the BBL application, they received more BBL funds than entitled to At the date of liquidation, the BBL lender was owed £50,000.
