Conduct: Between 15 December 2018 and 07 September 2023, Lisa Marie Amos (“Mrs Amos”) caused Myumbrella Ltd (“Myumbrella”) to submit VAT returns to HM Revenue & Customs (“HMRC”), which they knew or ought to have known were inaccurate, resulting in an under declaration of £865,844 for the VAT periods ending between 11/18 and 08/23, in that: • On 06 March 2017, Mrs Amos applied to register Myumbrella for VAT, and its registration was effective from 01 March 2017. • Between 15 December 2018 and 07 September 2023, Mrs Amos submitted VAT returns for the periods ending between 11/18 and 08/23, which declared Myumbrella’s VAT due as £64,420. • Between 06 June 2021 and 06 June 2023, Mrs Amos signed Myumbrella’s accounts for the three years ending between 28 February 2021 and 28 February 2023. These recorded Myumbrella’s total turnover during those years as £197,305. • Myumbrella’s bank statements record it received income of £3,525,153 during those years, £3,327,848 more than recorded in its accounts. • On 12 October 2023, after finding that VAT had been under-declared, HMRC notified Myumbrella it had raised VAT assessments of £865,844 for the periods ending between 11/18 and 08/23. • Mrs Amos did not dispute HMRC assessments and on 01 November 2023, Myumbrella entered voluntary liquidation with total liabilities of £920,677, most of which was comprised of the £865,844 assessed VAT.
