Conduct: On 07 September 2020 Tamil Uddin (“Mr Uddin”) caused Envirotam Ltd (“Envirotam”) to make a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application of £50,000 which he knew or ought to have known was more that Envirotam was entitled to, thereby showing a reckless disregard to the terms of the scheme. Mr Uddin overstated Envirotam’s turnover and by making that wrongful declaration Envirotam received more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Envirotam was incorporated on 21 June 2016. • A business could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of their turnover in the calendar year 2019. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or, where a business was established after 01 January 2019, it is the estimated annual turnover from the date the business was started. • Financial accounts for year-ended 30 June 2019 showed a turnover of £35,758 • Bank statements for the calendar year 2019 show deposits of £43,531 were made into the company bank account. • On 07 September 2020 Mr Uddin applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Envirotam declaring a turnover figure of £215,000. • On 09 September 2020, BBL funds of £50,000 were paid into company’s bank account. • Based on the turnover figure of £43,531, Envirotam was eligible for a BBL of £10,883 and due to the overstatement of turnover on the BBL application meant that Envirotam received £39,117 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • Repayments made towards the BBL totals £2,083. • On 16 January 2025, Envirotam entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with known liabilities of £119,400 of which £49,130 is owed in respect of the BBL.
