Conduct: On 06 May 2020 Christopher Simon Grayston (“Mr Grayston”) provided inaccurate information concerning the turnover of Teenstar Limited (“Teenstar”) on an application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) resulting in Teenstar obtaining a BBL of £50,000 which was £31,913 more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it was their estimated turnover from the date the business started. • Teenstar was incorporated on 26 April 2016. Mr Grayston was appointed as a director throughout and became the sole director with effect from 12 June 2019. • Accounts for the year ending 30 August 2019 show turnover of £5,454. • Bank statements for the year ending 31 December 2019 show income of £72,346. Based on this figure Teenstar was eligible for a maximum BBL of £18,087. • On 06 May 2020 Mr Grayston applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Teenstar, stating that its turnover was £210,000, which was £137,654 more than the income received in the bank account for the year ending 31 December 2019. • The BBL of £50,000 was received into the bank account on 11 May 2020. • At liquidation, the sum of £5,652.78 inclusive of interest had been paid in respect of the BBL.
