Conduct: Mrs Anastasia Charalambos Loizou (“Mrs Loizou”) breached the terms of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by causing Little Nicks Barbers 2 Limited (“LNB2”) to overstate its turnover on its application for a BBL. As a result, LNB2 received a BBL of £50,000 when Mrs Loizou knew or ought to have known that LNB2 was not eligible for a loan of that amount, in that, • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it was their estimated turnover from the date the business started. • LNB2 was incorporated on 14 March 2016 and started trading immediately. • Mrs Loizou applied for a BBL disclosing turnover as £300,000. • On 07 May 2020 LNB2 received BBL funds of £50,000. • LNB2’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2019 disclose turnover of £67,193. • LNB2’s accounts for the year ended 31 March 2020 disclose turnover of £61,659. • Based on LNB2’s accounts for the year end 31 March 2019. LNB2 was eligible to apply for a BBL of a maximum of £16,799. • The overstatement of turnover meant the LNB2 received £33,201 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. • Total liabilities at liquidation were £71,805, including £46,969 in respect of the BBL obtained.
