Conduct: On 5 November 2020 Jamie Geddis (“Mr Geddis”) caused JG Roofing Limited (“JGRL”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures, when he knew or ought to have known that JGRL was not entitled to that amount which resulted in JGRL obtaining a BBL that was £24,940 more than it was entitled to: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • JGRL was incorporated on 12 November 2015. • On 5 November 2020, Mr Geddis applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of JGRL declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000. • JGRL accounts for the year end 31 December 2019 show turnover of £100,240. • Based on 2019 turnover of £100,240 JGRL was entitled to claim BBL funds up to £25,060. • JGRL received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 6 November 2020. • Total liabilities at liquidation/administration amount to £39,351 all of which relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
