Conduct: On 09 June 2020, Mr Ziauddin Mohammed (“Mr Mohammed”) caused Ladderiz Services Limited (“Ladderiz”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating its turnover on a BBL application to obtain £50,000 when he knew or ought to have known that Ladderiz was not entitled to a BBL in that amount, resulting in Ladderiz receiving more funds than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019.   • Ladderiz was incorporated on 11 November 2015 and the accounts show the company commenced trading before 30 November 2016. • On 09 June 2020, Mr Mohammed caused Ladderiz to apply for a BBL of £50,000 declaring that its turnover for the 2019 calendar year was £265,000. • Ladderiz received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 10 June 2020. • Ladderiz filed approved accounts for the year ending 30 November 2019 which show turnover of £24,794 for the period 01 December 2018 to 30 November 2019. • Bank statements for the period 01 January 2020 to 30 November 2020 and accounts for the period 01 December 2019 to 30 November 2020 show the turnover for the period 01 December 2019 to 31 December 2019 to be £11,717, giving a turnover of £36,513 for the period 1 December 2018 to 31 December 2019. • According to the turnover declared on the accounts and bank statements Ladderiz would have been entitled to apply for a maximum BBL of no more than £9,128. • Ladderiz therefore received BBL funds of at least £40,871 to which it was not entitled. • Mr Mohammed has not provided any documentary evidence to support the stated turnover figure of £265,000 or that Ladderiz was entitled to apply for a BBL of £50,000. • On 03 April 2024, Ladderiz entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation with total liabilities of £45,476, of which all were owed in respect of the BBL.
