Conduct: On 17 September 2020, Ms Vassoula Antonia Michael (“Ms Michael”) caused V.M. Professional Limited (“VMP”) to overstate its annual turnover in a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application when she knew or ought to have known that VMP was not eligible for the amount received. As a result, VMP received £43,656 more than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme, in that: • Under the terms of the BBL scheme, eligible businesses were entitled to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000, up to a maximum of 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019, which the applicant would self-certify when completing the BBL application. • VMP was incorporated and began trading on 11 November 2015. • Accounts ending 30 November 2019 stated its turnover for the previous financial year was £25,375. Based on this figure VMP was eligible to apply for a BBL of £6,344. • On VMP’s BBL application dated 17 September 2020 Ms Michael, whilst sole director of VMP, declared VMP had an annual turnover of £250,000. As a result, VMP received £50,000, which was £43,656 more than it was eligible to borrow under the BBL scheme. • On 01 August 2023 VMP entered liquidation with liabilities of £50,946, of which £50,616 was outstanding in respect of the BBL.
