Conduct: On 19 May 2020, I caused Brightsourced Holdings Limited (“Brightsourced Holdings”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) to which it was not entitled, in that: • The BBL scheme allowed businesses to receive a loan of between £2,000 and 25% of their annual turnover in the 2019 calendar year (up to a maximum of £50,000). Businesses would self-certify when completing the BBL application. • On 19 May 2020 Brightsourced Holdings applied for a BBL of £50,000. On the application I erroneously cited a turnover of £202,488. Accounts prepared for Brightsourced Holdings showed a turnover of £0 for the two years ended 31 December 2019 and investment income of £42,531 and £0 for years ended 31 December 2018 and 2019 respectively. • On 23 May 2020, the BBL funds of £50,000 were received into Brightsourced Holdings’ bank account. • On 8 January 2021, Brightsourced Holdings transferred £45,000 of the BBL funds that it had received to one of the other companies in the group. • In respect of Brightsourced Holdings Limited, the bank was the only creditor at the date of liquidation being owed £49,019. The sum remains outstanding
