Conduct: Graham Nicholson (“Mr Nicholson”) caused Nicholson's Raw Animal Foods Ltd (“NRAF”) to make false representations overstating the company’s turnover in an application for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 in that: Under the BBL scheme, businesses were entitled to borrow between £2,000 and £50,000 up to a maximum of 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019. NRAF was incorporated on 08 April 2015. NRAF’s accounts for the year ended 28 April 2019 (approved by Mr Nicholson on 27 January 2020) show turnover of £21,611 and accounts for the year ended 28 April 2020 show turnover of £23,501. On 17 September 2020, Mr Nicholson submitted a BBL application in which he stated that NRAF’s turnover in the calendar year 2019 was £210,000. On 21 September 2020, the BBL of £50,000 was deposited into NRAF’s bank account. By overstating NRAF’s turnover in the BBL application, the company received more BBL funds than it was entitled to. At the date of liquidation, the BBL lender was owed £45,133.
