Conduct: On 18 June 2020 Mr Liam Murphy (“Mr Murphy”) applied for a Government backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £29,000 in the name of IT Business Bridge Limited (“The Company”) and used at least £17,672 of the BBL funds for his personal benefit. The payments made to Mr Murphy breached the terms of the BBL which stated that its intended purpose was to provide economic benefit to the business and not for personal purposes, in that: • On 19 June 2020, the company received £29,000 into its bank account in relation to the Bounce Back Loan. • Between 21 June 2020 and 1 October 2020 payments totalling £17,672 were paid out of the company bank account to Mr Murphy’s personal bank account. • On 1 July 2020 £4,060.54 was paid to HMRC from the company bank account. • On 23 July, 13 July and 7 September 2020 three separate payments of £536, totalling £1,608, were received into the company bank account from “HMRC JRS GRANT”. • On 4th November 2020, the company was placed into Liquidation. • At the date of Liquidation, the company had liabilities of £68,593.57 including the BBL which remained unpaid at Liquidation.
