Mr Handa made a incorrect declaration by overestimating Temple’s turnover, as a result Temple has received BBL funds of £30,619 that it was not entitled to.?? ?? • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover.?? ? • Temple was incorporated on 27 May 2014, and Mr Handa was the sole appointed director.? ? • On 21 May 2020, Mr Handa applied for a BBL of £45,000 on behalf of Temple, declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £180,000.? ? • Bank statements show total receipts during calendar year 2019 of £57,525, meaning Temple was eligible for a BBL of no more than £14,381. ?? • Temple received the BBL funds of £45,000 on 26 May 2020, £30,619 more than it was eligible for.?? ? ? • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £45,000 all of which relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.?
