Conduct: On or around 07 June 2020 Farooq Mohammed (Mr Mohammed) caused SIS Technologies Ltd (“SIS”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in SIS obtaining a BBL that was £50,000 more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • SIS was incorporated on 20 November 2012 • On or around 07 June 2020 Mr Mohammed applied for a BBL of £50,000 (on behalf of SIS) declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £210,000 • SIS’s end of year accounts to 30 November 2019 state SIS was dormant • SIS’s end of year accounts to 30 November 2020 state a turnover of £7,031 • SIS’s company bank account shows no commercial activity until receipt of the bounce back loan on 07 June 2020. • SIS received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 7 June 2020 • Total liabilities at liquidation/administration amount to £61,558 of which £50,709 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
