Conduct: On 3 July 2020, William Alban Davis (“Mr Davis”) caused WADA Limited to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures, which resulted in WADA obtaining a BBL that was for at least £30,120 more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • WADA was incorporated on 29 March 2007. • On 3 July 2020, Mr Davis applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of WADA declaring that its turnover was £250,000. • Accounts for the period ended 31 March 2019 disclose turnover of £46,877. • Accounts for the period ended 31 March 2020 disclose turnover of £32,645. • Therefore, WADA was entitled to a BBL of no more than £19,880. • WADA received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 6 July 2020. • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £233,169, of which £45,866 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
