Conduct: Mr Michael Lloyd Tapper-Grey (‘MLTG’) caused M Lloyd Associates Ltd (‘MLA’) to make a bounce back loan (‘BBL’) application resulting in MLA receiving a £50,000 BBL to which it was not entitled, in that: In a BBL application form dated 14 September 2020, point 1 of Section 5 – Declarations stated that “I/We confirm that my/our business was carrying on its business on 1 March 2020, that I was/we were engaged in trading or commercial activity in the United Kingdom as at the date of this application3, and the business has been adversely impacted by COVID-19.” MLA filed dormant accounts at Companies House for the financial years ending 30 April 2019 and 30 April 2020 and, accordingly, was not able to confirm the declaration at point 1, above. MLA was, therefore, not eligible for a bounce back loan of any amount. MLA entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation on 09 May 2022 and the statement of affairs in liquidation records a total deficiency of £65,000 of which £50,000 relates to the BBL owed to the bank.
