1. HM Land Registry is an agency of the Ministry of Justice and is divided into two departments; the Land Charges Department and the Registration of Title Department which is commonly referred to as ‘Land Registry’. The Chief Land Registrar heads the two departments. Both departments deal with the recording of certain interests in, or charges over, land.
