Conduct: On 21 September 2020 Patrick McBride (Mr McBride”) caused Point Paving and Construction Limited (“PPC”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures in the application form and as a result PPC has received BBL funds that it was not entitled to, in that: • A business could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover in calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019, it is their estimated turnover. • PPC was incorporated on 8 March 2013. • Mr McBride applied for and obtained a BBL of £50,000 on 21 September 2020 and stated the annual turnover for PPC was £210,000. • On 23 September 2020 the BBL of £50,000 was deposited into the company bank Business Current Account of PPC. • The company bank account statements show that for period covering calendar year 2019 there was trade/sales activity of £25,699. • Mr McBride has provided no clear evidence of how or why the turnover figure of £210,000 was determined and used in the BBL application. • On 12 December 2023, PPC entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with known liabilities of £118,645, of which £48,676 is owed in respect of the BBL.
