Conduct: Nirmal Lal (“Ms Lal”) breached her duties as the director of Classic Stitch Embroidery Limited (“Classic”) by failing to ensure that it complied with legislative requirements in that: • Classic did not comply with its statutory obligations under The Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006 resulting in the employment of 2 people who did not have the appropriate permissions to work • Home Office Immigration Enforcement (“HOIE”) after investigating Classic issued a Notification of Liability for a Civil Penalty of £20,000 in respect of the employment of these workers, payment of which was due on before 26 August 2024. • Classic has not paid the penalty due to HOIE • Ms Lal was an appointed director of the company at the time of the breach of the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality legislation.
