Conduct: On 11 August 2020, Musaffa Wadood Chowdhury (“Mr Chowdhury”) caused MC Advice Limited (“MCA”) to make a fraudulent application for a second Bounce Back Loan (BBL), which MCA was not entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme eligibility, a borrower is required to declare that this is their only application for a BBL, it is not in the process of applying for or has already received a BBL. Businesses were able to apply for one BBL up to 25% of their turnover to a maximum of £50,000. • Mr Chowdhury made an application for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of MCA on 1 July 2020 with Bank A. The BBL funds were paid into MCA’s bank account on 14 September 2020. • Mr Chowdhury made a further BBL application of £50,000 with Bank B on behalf of MCA on 11 August 2020 signing the declaration on the application form confirming that this was MCA’s only application for a BBL, it was not in the process of applying for or had already received a BBL. • The funds from MCA’s second BBL were paid into its bank account on 13 August 2020. • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £80,000 of which the entirety relates to amounts owed in respect of the 2 BBLs.
