Conduct: Katarzyna Piecuch (“Ms Piecuch”) caused The Old Rabbit Limited (“the Company”) to apply for a government backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £45,000 that it was not eligible for, in that: • The BBL scheme states that for a business to be eligible for a BBL, it must have been carrying on its business on 1 March 2020 and engaged in trading or commercial activity in the United Kingdom at the date of the BBL application. • The Company was incorporated on 7 February 2020. • No accounts for the Company have been filed at Companies House. • The Company’s bank statements from 2 April 2020 show the first transaction in the bank account took place on 23 April 2020. • No evidence has been provided to show any transactions prior to the date of the first transaction in the bank account. • In a questionnaire, in response to a question about the date the Company started trading, Ms Piecuch stated that the Company started to trade on the online platforms in December 2020. • With the submission of the loan application on 5 May 2020, Ms Piecuch declared that the Company was carrying on its business on 01 March 2020 and engaged in trading or commercial activity at the date of the application. • The Company received a BBL of £45,000 on 7 May 2020, to which it was not eligible. • The BBL provider has claimed £45,694 in the liquidation.
