In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • VVL was incorporated 19 November 2019 • On 8 September 2020 VVL applied for and obtained a BBL of £50,000, In the application Mr Jobe declared VVL’s turnover as £200,000. The BBL funds were paid into VVL’s company bank account held with the lender on 24 September 2020. • VVL had four bank accounts with one provider. From the bank statements obtained from the lender, these disclose between 19 November 2019, being the date of incorporation to 8 September 2020 the date of the BBL application, there were no trade/sales deposits. Therefore, the company was not eligible for any BBL funds. • Unaudited Financial Statements provided by the company accountants, disclose that the company had no turnover for the period 19 November 2019 to 30 November 2020. • No evidence has been supplied to support the estimated turnover of £200,000. • On 10 March 2022 entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with liabilities of £50,000 which is owed in respect of the BBL.
