Conduct: In May 2020 Ilie Postu (“Mr Postu”) obtained a £50,000 Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) for Ilitech Plumbing Limited (“Ilitech”), which was more than Ilitech was eligible for, by providing misleading information about its relevant turnover, in that: • under the BBL scheme a business that was established after 01 January 2019 could apply for a loan of 25% of its estimated annual turnover from the date it started its business, up to a maximum of £50,000; • Ilitech was incorporated on 12 October 2019 and began trading in November 2019; • in May 2020 Mr Postu applied for a £50,000 BBL for Ilitech, declaring a turnover of £250,000 and the BBL was received in the company’s bank account on 19 May 2020; • Ilitech’s bank statements show receipts of £23,240 between November 2019 and May 2020 and its accounts for the accounting period ended 31 October 2020 show a turnover of £44,510; • Ilitech went into liquidation on 28 July 2023 owing £43,961 to the BBL lender.
