Conduct: On 15 May 2020 I caused The Norfolk Venue Ltd (“Norfolk Venue”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overestimating its turnover on a BBL application resulting in Norfolk Venue receiving more funds that it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. In that: ? Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019, or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it is their estimated annual turnover from the date that the business was started. ? Norfolk Venue was incorporated on 26 September 2019, with the company commencing trading in November 2019. ? On 15 May 2020 I applied for a BBL of £40,000 on behalf of Norfolk Venue declaring its estimated turnover was £200,000. The BBL agreement was signed by me on 27 May 2020. ? Norfolk Venue’s bank statements from 06 February 2019 to 14 May 2020 record income to be £6,170 and between 16 May 2020 and 29 November 2021 (the date of the last transaction) record income to be £14,090. ? On 27 May 2020 Norfolk Venue received the BBL funds of £40,000 into its bank account. ? Norfolk Venue entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation on 22 July 2022. Total liabilities at liquidation amounted to £41,428, of which £40,000 related to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
