Conduct: Tanya Waterman (“Mrs Waterman”) caused Perfect Scent Trading Limited (“PST”) to obtain a Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 that it was not entitled to. In that: • PST was incorporated on 04 September 2019 and commenced trading around August 2020. • The BBL scheme rules required eligible applicants to be carrying on business on 01 March 2020. • On or around 02 September 2020 Mrs Waterman applied for a £50,000 BBL from a BBL Lender on behalf of PST. • PST’s Financial Statements filed at Companies House show that PST was dormant for the period 04 September 2019 to 30 September 2020. • Analysis of the working papers for PST’s Financial Statements for the year ended 30 September 2021 show that the earliest transaction included was 23 August 2020. Analysis of PST’s bank statements confirms the first transaction was on 23 August 2020. • PST was not entitled to any BBL as it was not carrying on business on 1 March 2020, as such it received £50,000 more than it was entitled to. • The BBL remains outstanding. The BBL lender is a creditor in the Company’s liquidation and have entered a claim for £31,645.18.
