Conduct: Michael Hansen (“Mr Hansen”) caused MH Property & Engineering Services Limited (“MH Property”) or (“the Company”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £40,000 on 07 October 2020 using overstated turnover figures in the application form. Consequently, MH Property received £37,926.50 more monies than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme. Furthermore, he failed to ensure that the BBL funds were used for the economic benefit of the Company, in that: • The company was incorporated on 20 June 2019. • On 13 October 2020, MH Property received a BBL of £40,000 which was £37,926.50 more than it was entitled to. A business could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of its turnover. • In the BBL application dated 07 October 2020, MH Property’s annual turnover was stated to be £160,000. • Financial Statements detail that MH property achieved turnover of £8,294 in the period 20 June 2019 to 30 June 2020, which was the Company’s first year of trade. • MH Property’s bank statements show total credits of £7,813.86 in the same period. • MH Property’s bank statements show a payment of £8,975 to an unknown third party and a withdrawal of £5,000 on 15 October 2020. He has provided no evidence to show that these funds were used for the economic benefit of the Company. • MH Property’s bank statements also show that £24,681.63 was transferred to him between 17 November 2020 and 06 August 2021. He has provided no evidence to show that these funds were used for the economic benefit of the Company. • On 03 November 2021, MH Property entered Creditor’s Voluntary Liquidation with total liabilities of £42,300, of which £40,000 was the BBL.
