Conduct: On 15 June 2020 Rick Howard Gray (‘Mr Gray’) provided inaccurate information in an application for a £50,000 Government-backed Bounce Back Loan (‘BBL’) that he made on behalf of R K Driveways Designs Ltd (‘RK’), in that: • The BBL Scheme enabled a business to obtain a BBL of up to 25% of a business’s turnover (for the calendar year 2019) up to a maximum of £50,000. Where a business was established after 1 January 2019, the application was required to apply a 25% limit to the estimated annual turnover from the date the business commenced. • The Company was incorporated on 18 April 2019 and commenced to trade on 23 May 2019. • The Company’s bank statements for the first year from 23 May 2019 record trading income of £57,704, as a result of which the Company was entitled to a BBL of no more than £14,426. • On 15 June 2020, Mr Gray submitted an application for a BBL of £50,000 to Bank A stating a turnover of £211,000, with the loan monies being paid into the Company account on the same day. • By applying for, and securing, a BBL of £50,000, Mr Gray obtained £35,574 more than the Company was entitled to.
