Conduct: Ms Ion caused Real Textile to obtain two Government-back Bounce Back Loans (“BBLS”) of £50,000 each, contrary to the terms of the BBL scheme. In that: • The terms of the BBL scheme were such that an applicant company could obtain a loan up to a maximum value of £50,000. Applicants were permitted to obtain one BBL only. • On 26 May 2020 Ms Ion applied, on behalf of Real Textile, to a financial institution (“Bank A”) for a BBL of £50,000 (‘the first BBL”). • The first BBL was paid into Real Textile’s account with Bank A on 02 June 2020. • On 12 February 2021 Ms Ion applied, on behalf of Real Textile, to a second financial institution (“Bank B”) for a second BBL of £50,000 (“the second BBL”). • The second BBL was paid into Real Textile’s account with Bank B on 16 February 2021. • The application for the second BBL was signed by Ms Ion and included a declaration that the application to Bank B was the only application made for a BBL for Real Textile. • The second BBL application was made in contravention of the BBL scheme’s term and conditions and, by making the second application Ms Ion caused Real Textile to obtain a BBL of £50,000 to which it was not entitled. • At liquidation £49,937 remained outstanding in respect of the second BBL.
