Conduct: On 21 October 2020 Nathan Jon Aspin (“Mr Aspin”) caused or allowed Faith Aspin Ltd (“Faith Aspin”) to breach the terms and conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating its turnover on the BBL application, when Mr Aspin knew or ought to have known that Faith Aspin was not entitled to a BBL of £50,000, resulting in Faith Aspin receiving more BBL funds than it was entitled to, in that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the application. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it is their estimated annual turnover from the date that the business was started. • Faith Aspin was incorporated on 19 February 2019. • On or around 21 October 2020 Mr Aspin’s co director made a BBL application in the amount of £50,000 on behalf of Faith Aspin, declaring turnover of £600,000. On the same date the BBL agreement was signed by Faith Aspin’s co director and Faith Aspin received the BBL funds of £50,000 into its bank account. • Faith Aspin filed dormant accounts for the year ended 28 February 2020. Faith Aspin’s bank account was opened on or around 20 May 2020, with no transactions recorded prior to the receipt of the BBL on 26 October 2020. The first trading income into the bank account appears to have been on 05 July 2021. • On 23 September 2024, Faith Aspin entered Creditors Voluntary Liquidation with known liabilities of £62,951, of which £50,801 is owed in respect of the BBL.
