Conduct: On 12 May 2020 Craig Campbell (“Mr Campbell”) caused Maintenance Free Lawns Limited (“MFL”) to make a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application of £50,000 when he knew or ought to have known that MFL was not eligible to receive a BBL of such amount. Mr Campbell made a wrongful declaration by overstating MFL’s turnover and as a result MFL received more BBL funds than it was eligible to from the BBL scheme. In that:   • Under the BBL scheme, businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of its turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated annual turnover from the date the business started.     • MFL was incorporated on 07 February 2019 and commenced trading in February 2019.   • No accounts have been filed for MFL at Companies House. • Company bank statements obtained show deposits between 01 April 2019 and 16 March 2020 assumed to be turnover of £72,212. • On 12 May 2020, Mr Campbell applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of MFL declaring that its estimated turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £400,000. • On 13 May 2020 £50,000 BBL funds were deposited into the company bank account of MFL.   • Total liabilities at liquidation amount to £49,467 all of which relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
