Conduct: Babita Magar also known as Babita Ghudial (“Mrs Magar”) caused Rejuvenate Aesthetics London Ltd (“Rejuvenate”) to apply and obtain a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 on 02 July 2020 using overestimated turnover figures in the application form. Consequently, Rejuvenate received £35,185 more monies than it was entitled to from the BBL in that: • The Bounce Back Loan criteria allowed a company to borrow between £2,000 and a maximum of £50,000 based on 25% of the company’s turnover in calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 01 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • Rejuvenate was incorporated on 14 November 2018 and commenced trading from May 2019. • On 02 July 2020, Mrs Magar made an application to a financial institution for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of Rejuvenate. • The loan application asked Rejuvenate to provide details of its estimated annual turnover from the date the business started. Mrs Magar stated on the application form that the estimated turnover for Rejuvenate was £225,000. • The prepared accounts for the period ended 30 November 2020 show a turnover of £32,497 for 2019 and a turnover of £59,259 for the year ended 30 November 2020. • Based on those figures Rejuvenate was entitled to a BBL of £14,815 at most. • The BBL funds of £50,000 were paid into the company’s bank account on 02 July 2020. • Rejuvenate entered Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation on 12 October 2023. • At liquidation, Rejuvenate’s liabilities totalled £41,576 of which £37,812 is in respect of the outstanding BBL.
