Conduct: Noor Jamal Hamdard (“Mr Hamdard”) failed to ensure that DKS Motors Ltd (“DKS”) maintained and / or preserved adequate accounting records covering the whole period from incorporation on 18 October 2018 to the date of liquidation on 30 November 2021, or, in the alternative, he failed to deliver up such records. Due to the inadequate accounting records made available it has not been possible to establish: a) The reason for the difference in the turnover of £70,430 shown in the end of year accounts to 31/10/2019 and the sum of £649,803 paid into the company’s Lloyds Bank account in the same period. b) How income totalling £1,968,010 paid into the company bank accounts from 18 October 2018 to 30 November 2021 was generated and what the income was used for. c) How tax was accounted for on that income. No sales or purchase invoices, taxation records or records of assets and stock were maintained or delivered up. HMRC have provided some information on contact they had with the company, but it is not clear exactly what sums were accounted for in relation to Corporation Tax and VAT despite the sums that were paid into the company bank account.
