Conduct: On 26 May 2020, Mr Ergun Mehmet (“Mr Mehmet”) caused EMS Taxis Limited (“EMS”) to make a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) application of £50,000. Mr Mehmet made a wrongful declaration by overestimating EMS’s turnover, as a result EMS has received BBL funds of £32,425 that it was not entitled to, in that:   • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 the estimated turnover.     • EMS was incorporated on 27 September 2018.    • On 26 May 2020, Mr Mehmet applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of EMS declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £200,000.    • The bank statements for EMS show that between 01 January 2019 and 31 December 2019, credits appearing to be turnover totalling £70,301 were paid into EMS’s bank account.    • Based on this turnover EMS was entitled to apply for £17,575. • EMS received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 05 June 2020.     • Total liabilities at liquidation/administration amount to £181,828 of which £50,000 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
