Conduct: On 11 September 2020 Mr Steven Pitterson (“Mr Pitterson”) caused Gainsborough Partitions Limited (“GPL”) to apply for a Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) of £50,000 using overstated turnover figures which I knew or ought to have known were incorrect and resulted in GPL obtaining a BBL that was more than it was entitled to. In that: • Under the BBL scheme businesses could apply for a loan of between £2,000 and £50,000 subject to a maximum of up to 25% of turnover. The turnover figure was self-certified by the applicant. The turnover figure required was that for the calendar year 2019 or where a business was established after 1 January 2019 it is their estimated turnover. • GPL was incorporated on 01 August 2018. • On 11 September 2020, Mr Pitterson applied for a BBL of £50,000 on behalf of GPL declaring that its turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £214,000. o Mr Pitterson and his fellow director Mr Wayne Walsh state that the actual turnover for the calendar year 2019 was £135,000. o The accounts show that the turnover for Y/E 31/08/2019 was £83,698 and for Y/E 31/08/2020 was £154,991, on a pro-rata basis this would equate to turnover of £107,462 for the 2019 calendar year. o Bank Statements for the calendar year 2019 show income of £5,490.85 • GPL received the BBL funds of £50,000 on 16 September 2020. • Total liabilities at liquidation/administration amount to £112,513 of which £49,041 relates to the amount owed in respect of the BBL.
