Conduct: Mr Mustafa Eslik (“Mr Eslik”) caused Inspiration Tourism Ltd (“Inspiration”) to breach the terms and conditions of the government-backed Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by applying for and receiving a BBL of £50,000 when he knew or ought to have known that Inspiration was entitled to receive £11,035. In that: • The BBL scheme entitled a company trading prior to 1 March 2020 and affected by the Covid-19 pandemic to apply for a BBL of up to 25% of that company’s 2019 calendar year turnover, up to a maximum of £50,000. • Inspiration was incorporated on 22 June 2018. Mr Eslik was appointed as a director on incorporation and remained as such until Inspiration entered creditor’s voluntary liquidation on 14 December 2023. • On 14 January 2021 Mr Eslik made an application on behalf of Inspiration for a BBL of £50,000 and declared that Inspiration had a turnover of £295,400 in 2019. • The Company’s accounts for the period 22 June 2018 to 30 April 2019 record a turnover of £53,972. The Company’s accounts for the period 1 May 2019 to 30 April 2020 record a turnover of £33,830. • Apportioning the turnover from the two sets of accounts (4 months of the 10-month period to 30 April 2019 and 8 months of the year to 30 April 2020) provides an estimated turnover of £44,142. This would have allowed the company to obtain a BBL of £11,035. • The BBL remains outstanding, and the amount due to the BBL Lender is stated to be £50,620 and entered as a claim in the liquidation
