Conduct: Shopna Begum (Mrs Begum) caused Curry Club (Broughton) T/A Indian.Com Limited, (CCB) to apply for a 50,000 Bounce Back Loan (BBL), using an overstated turnover figure of 210,000 in the loan application form, in consequence of which CCB received more monies than it was entitled to from the BBL scheme on 08 June 2020 in that, Companies incorporated before 01 January 2019 could apply for a loan of up to 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019, from a minimum of 2,000 up to a maximum of 50,000. If the company was incorporated after 01 January 2019 then an estimated annual turnover could be used by the applicant. CCB was incorporated on 13 February 2018. CCBs financial statements for the period ending 28 February 2020 record annual turnover at 114,400, which would have allowed CCB to apply for a BBL of 28,600 (CBBs management accounts for the previous period, to 28 February 2019, recorded turnover of 104,000). CBBs bank statements show deposits totalling 43,271 for the calendar year 2019. On the application form she declared CCBs turnover in calendar year 2019 at 210,000 and applied for a 50,000 BBL, 21,400 more than CCB was entitled to based on 2019 turnover. BBL funds of 50,000 were deposited into CCBs bank account on 08 June 2020, leaving a credit balance of 61,319. CCB entered liquidation on 31 January 2022. The Statement of Affairs reports creditors of CCB totalling 51,200, of which 50,000 is owed to the bank in respect of the unpaid BBL.
