Conduct: Sunny Singh Sidhu caused Tulisa Sports Limited, under its previous name of Van Hawke Sports Ltd, to breach the conditions of the Bounce Back Loan (“BBL”) scheme by overstating the company’s estimated annual turnover in order to obtain a loan of £50,000 on 12 May 2020, when it was due, at most, £2,026. In that: • The BBL scheme allowed businesses affected by the Coronavirus pandemic to apply for a BBL of between £2,000 and £50,000, up to a maximum of 25% of turnover in the calendar year 2019 or if established after 1 January 2019 its estimated turnover. • Tulisa was incorporated 16 January 2018 and commenced trading in January 2019. • On 12 May 2020 when the company was called VAN HAWKE SPORTS LTD, you applied for a BBL of £50,000 stating in the application that Tulisa’s turnover was estimated at £230,000. • On 15 May 2020 the £50,000 BBL was credited to Tulisa’s bank account. • Historical bank statements list sales generated by Tulisa between 23 January 2019 and 22 January 2020 at £8,105.01. Tulisa was therefore entitled to £2,026 under the BBL scheme. • You overstated Tulisa’s estimated turnover in the BBL application form by up to £191,895, resulting in Tulisa being granted a BBL that was £47,974 more than it was entitled to under the BBL scheme. • Tulisa’s bankers are creditors in the company’s liquidation for £50,000 in respect of the BBL.
