Conduct: Damien Barrett caused Erris Services Ltd (‘Erris’) to breach the conditions of the Government’s coronavirus Bounce Back Loan scheme by overstating Erris’ turnover to obtain a loan of £50,000, when he knew or ought to have known that was more than Erris was entitled to, in that: The Bounce Back Loan scheme allowed businesses to borrow an amount up to 25% of their turnover, to a maximum of £50,000. Erris’ made an application for a Bounce Back Loan on 30 May 2020, in which it was stated that Erris had a turnover of £255,700. Erris’ financial accounts show turnover of £67,884 and £76,799 in the years ending 31 May 2019 and 31 May 2020 respectively. Erris entered creditors voluntary liquidation on 16 July 2021 with no assets and liabilities totalling £118,770, including £50,000 in respect of the Bounce Back Loan.
